Question by Lindsay T: Is there an online map of graffiti in Istanbul?
I found a google map mash-up while I was in Melbourne of graffiti to go check out and I’m wondering if anyone has come across the same for Istanbul? If not, are there specific neighborhoods that I can go to find graffiti?

The 100,000 lira note was printed 1991-2005. In 2005, all earlier notes were superseded by the “new lira”. The 100,000 lira note was replaced by a 1 lira note. The 100,000 lira note can be changed into current lira at the Central Bank until Nov. 2011. However, it won’t be worth much, since 1 million lira = 1 current lira = 67 cents US.

Read Orhan Pamuk’s “Snow”, and you may get an idea..
It has been pretty hard from time to time in Turkey to write about certain things, in a country with a lot of ethnic and religious / political conflict.

PS Orhan Pamuk has not emigrated, but his book Snow will give you some clues as to why some writers may have left Turkey and live abroad.

Question by Queenie: is there an alternative to the Amazon Mechanical Turk Web Service?
Are there other sites / services that provide the same service as the Amazon Mechanical Turk?

Best answer:

Answer by jaquez
The reason is in the wide audience and in the flexibility of the system.
There are some other crowdsourcing sites, but usually they are
specific to a certain goal, like for example ChaCha:

ChaCha is a mobile question answering service which uses a technique known as the Human search engine. ChaCha was created by Scott A. Jones and Brad Bostic. The company is based in Carmel, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis.

So that is an alternative, but for workers, not for requesters.
